About Kids Korps USA
Kids Korps USA is a national non-profit youth volunteer organization that engages young people, ages 5-18, in community service. Our mission is to instill in America's youth the spirit of giving while providing valuable education in leadership and responsibility.  Our vision is to develop leaders for life through youth volunteerism. To that end, Kids Korps partners with more than 250 nonprofit service agencies throughout San Diego County, involving more than 5,000 youth members and their families in more than 1,200 service projects annually.  Each year, thousands of our youth members take time to volunteer for projects within their own communities that include; feeding the homeless, visiting the aged, building or restoring homeless shelters, and assisting in environmental conservation.

About ECO Ball 2009 … A Celebration Where Party & Planet Meet
Kids Korps’ “ECO Ball Presented by Sempra Energy Foundation” will be held on February 7, 2009 at Irwin M. Jacobs Qualcomm Hall. This chic, delicious and eco-friendly celebration presented by Sempra Energy Foundation will feature our special guest, Millard Fuller, Founder of Habitat for Humanity International, and Founder & CEO of the Fuller Center for Housing. Widely considered one of the most influential people in the 20th century, Millard has been a “green, affordable, and local” builder from day one.

The event will also feature a salute to Kids Korps National Leadership Award recipients for 2009, The Hug Family, proprietors of Mille Fleurs & Mr. A’s by Bertrand, in recognition for their years of support of Kids Korps.  Of course, this year’s lead-up to the event will include Kids Korps’ annual wine party at Mille Fleurs featuring a selection of organic wines in keeping with the green theme.
